Join me in Normandy for D-Day 75 in June 2019 for a Canadian Jewish commemoration tour

The brochure is ready! The phone lines are open. And there are 10 spots left in this exciting and historic opportunity.  Be a part of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Join me and Rabbi Jarrod Grover of Beth Tivkvah Synagogue for an unforgettable WWll Normandy battlefields tour, from a Canadian Jewish perspective. Visits to all the main locations where thousands of Canadian and Allied troops landed, and fought a hard and costly series of operations to push the German defenders back and out of Northwest Europe in 1944. In the fighting, at least 70 Canadian Jewish men were killed, either as part of the land forces, or in aerial bombing raids from bases in England and then later, in liberated French territory.

Beginning in Paris, you will spend the weekend/Sabbath exploring the Jewish historic sites of the French capital, and learning about the country under German occupation during the Second World War. Then we move to Normandy for an extended tour of Juno Beach, Arromanches, Caen, Pegagus Bridge, Deauville, Dieppe, and more.

Walk in the footsteps of the Canadians, including those of Jewish faith, who fought, and died in Normandy, and visit the graves of those who are buried in the region, where we conduct Jewish memorial services. Dedicate a new Torah Scroll with the Jewish Community of Normandy, in memory of the Canadian fallen. Plus attend the official June 6 ceremony in Juno with world leaders.  Ride in a vintage WWII vehicle. Taste kosher local food and wine. Visit ancient Jewish Rouen. Climb the haunted beaches in Dieppe where so many thousands of Canadians were killed or taken prisoner in 1942.
