Ellin speaks to the ‘Yids on Wheels” Toronto group about the Canadian Jewish Dispatch Riders of WWII

The largest Jewish motorcycle club in Canada, Yids On Wheels Toronto YOWMC, welcomes author and journalist Ellin Bessner to their closing party, on Saturday Oct. 27, 2018. Ellin will speak about her new book, “Double Threat” which tells the stories of the 17,000 Canadians of Jewish faith who served in WWII, helped defeat Hitler, and rescue the survivors of the Holocaust. Among the brave troops who served at the sharp end of the stick were the motorcycle dispatch riders, including one of the most famous, Lt. Col. David A. Croll, a former Mayor of Windsor, Ontario, who wrote a much-celebrated manual for dispatch riders. Motorcycles also played a tragic role in the fate of some of the Jewish Canadians who served. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
