Ellin brings Double Threat to the Bernard Betel Centre Tuesday July 24, 2018 10 a.m.

The book tells the untold stories of the Canadians who served in all the major battles from Dunkirk to D-Day and beyond, those who were captured as POWs, those who won bravery medals, and those 450 who didn’t come home. We hear about some of the more famous Canadians who volunteered including comedians, hockey stars, politicians and rabbis. We also hear about how the Jewish military personnel experienced antisemitism, and how they tried to stay true to the Jewish faith through keeping kosher, attending services and even carrying their tefillin and tallitot into battle.
