For Canadian Multiculturalism Day June 27, Ellin speaks at a panel on “Unseen Canadian Heroes in the Canadian Military”

Ellin speaks about the Jewish Canadian contribution to Canada’s military from the Plains of Abraham to today, as part of a panel on Unseen Canadian Heroes, organized by Lt. Cdn (Res.) Albert Wong, who has 39 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Wong is also a citizenship court judge and former aide de camp to Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor.

Ellin will join the panel alongside scholars and serving military personnel from diverse Canadian cultural communities, including the Black, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean and more.

Ellin is the author of “Double Threat: Canadian Jews, the Military and WWll” published by the University of Toronto Press. She is a journalist and currrently the host of The CJN Daily podcast, for the Canadian Jewish News, and before that has been a professional journalist and broadcaster for CBC and CTV News for four decades.
