Yom HaShoah is a worldwide day of Holocaust Remembrance. In Israel, it is the official Holocaust memorial day, taking place each year on the Hebrew calendar date, 27 Nisan. This year, Yom HaShoah will include the traditional lighting of candles, a poetic reading by the Atlantic Jewish Council Executive Director Naomi Rosenfeld, and a lecture and reading from Ellin Bessner, author of Double Threat: Canadian Jews, the Military, and World War II. A reception and book-signing will follow. This event is presented in partnership with the Atlantic Jewish Council.
