Hector Rubin’s legacy in maps

When a researcher from Britain reached out to the Winnipeg Jewish Post and News in March, 2018, they were looking to find the family of a Canadian Jewish navigator, Hector Rubin, DFC, who was killed in WWII. The editor of the newspaper, Bernie Bellan, knew who to call. Ellin’s research into the Canadian Jews who served in WWII included a great amount of information about the Kamsack, Sask. airman and his family, and subsequently what happened to his widow, and her children.  Here is the story.
